Detailed Material Specifications
In-depth breakdown of indications, reduction parameters, and cementation guidelines.
1. IPS e.max® Prime Esthetic
Indications:
High-aesthetic anterior single crowns, anterior bridges, veneers, and demanding inlay/onlay cases.
Translucency & Strength:
Engineered with high light-diffusion characteristics matching natural enamel light transmission while maintaining robust dentin core stability. ∼850 MPa
Cementation Protocol:
Adhesive resin bonding recommended (e.g., Multilink Automix or SpeedCEM Plus) with z-prime / MDP primer application.
2. IPS e.max® CAD
Indications:
Anterior/posterior single crowns, high-aesthetic veneers, inlays, onlays, and single implant-supported restorations.
Translucency & Strength:
Multi-opacity range (HT, MT, LT, MO) offering peak optical vitality.∼ 500 MPa
Cementation Protocol:
Hydrofluoric acid etch (5% HF for 20 sec), application of silane coupling agent, and seating with adhesive resin cement.
3. IPS e.max® Prime
Indications:
Single-tooth crowns, 3-unit bridges, multi-unit restorations, and full-arch overstructures requiring high strength.
Translucency & Strength:
Dual-zone gradient (~1200 MPa cervical/dentin strength to ~650 MPa incisal translucency) ensuring natural blending without distinct demarcation. ∼650 - 1200 MPa
Cementation Protocol:
Conventional cementation (RMGI) or adhesive bonding.
